May 2024

My two and a half month trip to Nepal has come to an end. This trip was incredibly fulfilling, allowing me to spend quality time with family and friends, witness our team in action, explore eastern Nepal like never before, and host some amazing people. I’m returning with a treasure trove of memories and insights, eagerly awaiting my next visit.
What’s happening at Nepal Tea Collective?

- I am thrilled to share that we are one of the 10 BIPOC CPG companies chosen by (Included) to showcase our compostable tea bags and represent our Asian heritage at the Summer Fancy Food Show 2024. This is a significant honor for us, as it allows us to represent not just our company, but also a community close to our hearts. If you’re in New York or attending the show, we’d love for you to visit us at Booth #1336.

- Our 2024 tea tours and buyer’s trip to Nepal come to an end and they have been a phenomenal experience. As this was my last trip to eastern Nepal for the year, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our producers who hosted me over the past few months. They gave me the chance to taste incredible teas and provide valuable feedback.

I’m excited to bring more of our tea buyers on this tour next year! Look out for an email from me reflecting on this year’s tea tour.
- In the past three months, we’ve opened three new tea bars in Nepal. This journey felt unimaginable, but the support we received made it possible. With the immense love and demand for our tea, we’re grateful to serve our teas in four different locations in Nepal. If you’re planning a visit to Nepal, I urge you to come and experience our tea bars!

- We achieved a significant milestone by delivering our largest-ever shipment to Metolius Tea in Bend, Oregon. Starting from a simple cold email and an initial 4 lbs. order, Metolius Tea’s founder, Amy, visited our family farms during a tea tour. Captivated by the impact and how our goals aligned, Metolius Tea integrated Nepali Tea into their portfolio, increasing their order to approximately 10,579 lbs.

- While in Nepal, I had the chance to explore some stunning parts of the country. I went on a 5-day trek to Mount Annapurna’s Base Camp, the 10th highest mountain in the world, and participated in a half marathon. These experiences provided me with a lot of clarity on both personal and professional levels.

What's happening at the farm in Nepal?

- The second flush harvest has begun after the dormant season. We will be producing most of the teas in our catalog and plan on restocking all our signature teas over the next few months.

- As this was my last trip to eastern Nepal for the year, I also had the chance to try some herbs and botanicals our farmers have been preparing during the tea dormant season.
Looking forward to sharing more exciting updates soon!
