May 2022
Since the beginning, Nepal Tea was always a little more than just about selling teas. For us, it has been about putting Nepali teas on the map and introducing the culture to a global market. We wanted to give a face and a voice to people who give their life to teas in Nepal and yet often go unnoticed in the world.
And despite things seeming ambitious for a young startup, we knew it was possible. We always believed in the power of tea. Six years later, Nish and I have been able to add three smallholder tea farms in Nepal, connecting our tea producers to global markets and committing to fight climate change.
Starting this month of May, we want to share the amazing dreams we have for Nepal Tea Collective and bring to you an opportunity to realize them not just as bystanders and supporters but as co-owners! We have opened our doors to our supporters through equity crowdfunding! You too can own this company and become part of the revolution within the tea industry!
Come join our hands and with every cup of tea plant a perennial Camellia Sinensis, empower Nepali farmers and their families and put Nepali teas on the global map!

What's happening in Nepal and at the farm?
The first flush has ended and the dormant period has started. The dormant period will last for at least 2 weeks. While the tea bushes are asleep we are working on planting 500 Kilos of Yacon around the tea garden to increase the Yacon production next year. Also, all of our farmers are sorting through the teas that they have been making in the past month. We do have a few farmers who have been working on Tumeric processing as well.
Also, I wanted to formally introduce the new tea maker that we have in our tea garden. Nikesh at just 22 years old is the youngest tea maker probably in the whole of Nepal. He grew up in Ilam where he watched his father and mother work in the tea gardens. Tea has always been on the periphery of his life. It wasn’t until the pandemic hit that he decided to give the tea an honest shot and it has been a match made in heaven.

Nikesh has no plans to get out of the wonders of tea. He is full of enthusiasm and experimental curiosity. We are looking forward to sharing the first flush white tea which is the very first tea that Nikesh has produced in our tea garden. He has designed this tea with a calmness that invites sunsets and gardens into one’s room. A sweet sort of meditation to go with everyday life.
We look forward to bringing him to one of our virtual tea tasting sessions in the coming months!!
Have a great day! Please do let me know if you have any questions or concerns regarding the investment opportunity at Nepal Tea Collective.
