Himalayan Mist's production process is similar to that of classic green tea in the Darjeeling Hills. In the early 90s, the method was introduced to the tea makers by workers who arrived from Darjeeling. The hand-plucked leaves are briefly allowed to rest before being quickly dried to prevent oxidation. The partially dried leaves are then rolled and left to rest to allow the release of essential oils. After resting, the leaves are re-dried at the peak of their aroma and then crushed and sorted through three different machines to gather the finer parts of the leaves. Finally, the tea is hand-sorted and graded based on leaf quality. Our products are vouched to be of the highest of quality and are available to be purchased wholesale.
