Nepali Breakfast is a medium-bodied black tea invigorated by its unique masala chai flavors. Black pepper and cardamom create a warm spice found throughout the tea.
Origin
The idea for this breakfast tea blend came when we were opening our first tea bar in Nepal and wanted to experiment with tea blending which was not a common thing in Nepal until even a few years ago. While it was the most common form of tea that was consumed in Nepal, every household generally mixed the spices themselves in every brew they made manually. There wasn’t really a standard chai mix concept in Nepal. The name and our recipe have been very well received locally and internationally. In fact, Nepali Breakfast is our best selling tea in the US.

The base tea in this blend is Kanchanjangha Noir. For information on how the black tea is produced, please refer to its production process. Kanchanjangha Tea Estate and Research Center Pvt. Ltd. (KTERC) is the first certified organic tea garden in Nepal. It was founded in 1984 by Mr. Deepak Prakash Baskota to lift his community out of poverty. KTERC is still a model social enterprise that operates using cooperative infrastructure and prioritizes people and the environment before profit.
