Feb 2023
The beginning of a new year is a chance for reflection and a sense of belonging. While it's easy to make resolutions, reflecting on the past year can provide valuable insight. For us, January has been a game-changer in recent years as we look back on our accomplishments and progress towards our goals.
1) We became a Public Benefit Corporation in 2022, prioritizing the well-being of all stakeholders. We nearly tripled our team size and nearly doubled our business, reaching 80% of our goal. In 2023, we aim for a six-figure monthly run rate for sustainability. We are currently in the process of closing our first fundraising round and are being selective in our choice of investors, focusing on those who align with our values and can provide valuable support for our sustainable growth. With a focus on value alignment, we believe that our own tea-loving customers, clients, and partners are the best fit to support us in our growth journey therefore are offering the opportunity to invest in our company and be a part of our success story. We have already raised $224,557 and hope to close the round by the end of March 2023.

2) In 2022, we introduced a variety of new offerings and we were successfully able to launch one of the most awaited immersive tea tours We are more than happy to let everyone know that we already have 26 people, mostly our partners in the tea industry who will be heading to our farm in Nepal to get an immersive experience and see the impact that they are having with every tea purchased from us. If you haven't planned any travel plans for the year, we would be glad to have you onboard to take you out to our tea garden in Nepal. Feel free to schedule a call with me to learn more about this opportunity. https://calendly.com/nepalt

3) Our team grew. January last year, we were a three person team and right now we are eight and looking for people to help make our dreams come true.
4) We added a new tea farm. Our community is at the core of our existence and growth. We're building connections not only with our customers in the US, but also fostering sustainable communities in rural Nepal. We were able to add Bhakanje Tea Farm, which represents Nepal's true identity, and the Sherpa community. and are bringing in teas from Mt. Everest region in Nepal.
5) We started our 1% revenue share program with tea farmers to supplement their income and provide additional income for their workers.
6) We started a program to plant one tea sapling for every customer we acquire. Our target for this year was to plant around 10,000 saplings, but we were only able to plant 6150.
7) We won six international awards for our teas in the AVPA tea competition in France, and our wholesale partner, Karma Teas, received a Good Taste award for one of our special white teas.
Thanks to anyone who made it this far! As I said, we had clearly underestimated what we would achieve in 2022. It was the best year we have had in terms of overall growth, fun and just building business. Hoping 2023 is going to be even better and already pumped on what we can offer you for this new year!
