With the month of March came the promise of a fruitful harvest. In the tea gardens, farmers eagerly waited for the delicate two leaves and one bud to bloom. Here in America, we built meaningful connections at the expo and the inevitable discovery of something new in the tea world. We've been blessed to be in this industry for this long and still find something new to gush about.
What's happening with Nepal Tea USA?
A lot of paperwork and website updates. With our recent change in structure, Nish and I have been working to get everything updated from Nepal Tea LLC to Nepal Tea Collective. Seems like a never-ending process, but we just have a few more things to take care of. Also, our sea shipment of teas is still stuck in Kolkatta's port. With the ongoing war in Ukraine, the logistic situation has gone from bad to worse. Hopefully, our shipment sails by the end of the week. I am glad that we are well-stocked at our warehouse which will last us for a few more months.
Nish and I also exhibited at the World Tea Expo in March. I was busy having conversations with people visiting our booth while Nish got a great opportunity to facilitate the tea business incubator class along with the veterans in the tea industry. We received great feedback on our teas and his presentation. Also, got a chance to meet and talk to James Norwood Pratt.

Annual Retreat at Zion National Park
Since last year, Nish and I take a few days off in the woods to get away from day-to-day work life. This year after the World Tea Expo, we went to Zion National Park along with his wife. It was one of the great experiences of our life and would definitely recommend Angel's Landing and the Narrow's Hike. Hope you enjoy the pictures from our retreat.

What's happening in Nepal and at the farm?
The first flush started a few weeks ago and the quantity of green leaves that our farmers have been plucking has increased drastically from last year. When asked what the reason might be for this, the weather out in our tea garden has been sunny as well as it has been raining frequently leading to faster growth in the tea bushes.
There was one heartbreaking news that came in during the month of March. Our factory driver, Dhan Badahur, who has been working with us for more than 20 years was in an accident. He and one of the supervisors were doing a regular errand run when they fell off the road about 18 ft down. Both of them were taken to the hospital and were treated immediately. Our supervisor, Ramesh, didn't have anything severe, however, Dhan Bahadur dai is still recovering at home. We have been calling him regularly to see how things are going for him.
